Meyven concentrates primarily on civil, commercial and corporate litigation. She has participated in various aspects of litigation: including appearing as co-counsel for trials and hearings in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court, drafting pleadings and interlocutory applications, preparing for trials and hearings, drafting submissions and negotiating out of court settlement.
She has experience in documenting intensive litigation in documents containing more than 130,000 pages.
In addition, Meyven advises on environmental, safety and health law and compliance.
REPRESENTATION
Represented local companies in bringing and defending civil claims, including personal injuries, breach of contract, fraud, tortious actions (negligence, defamation, economic torts), breach of confidence, breach of director’s duties, tenancy, easement etc.
Represented local businesses and companies in drafting and negotiating corporate and commercial contracts.
Represented companies in defending industrial relation claims in relation to wrongful and constructive dismissals.
Represented companies in bringing and defending adjudication under Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012.
Represented local companies in defending prosecution under Food Act 1990.
Assisted local companies and directors in mitigation for sentencing for conviction under Environmental Quality Act 1970, Occupational Safety and Health 1994 and Food Act 1990.
Assisted landlords in bringing distress actions.
Assisted individuals in obtaining grant of probate and administration of estate.
Handled execution of judgment against corporates and individuals by way of winding-up, bankruptcy, garnishee and judgment debtor summons.
Handled run-of-the-mill debt collection.
Advised local and multinational companies on environmental (land reclamation, contaminated land management and control, scheduled wastes, environmental impact assessment etc), safety and health law and compliance.
Assisted a local company in a judicial review against a local authority’s decision on closure of road.

Represented an individual in objection to the application for planning permission.
Advised a multinational company on Malaysian anti-corruption law.
