Section 10 of the Employment Act 1955 provides that employment which exceeds or may exceed a month shall be in writing, which shall include a termination clause.
Contravention of Section 10 of the Employment Act 1955 is punishable with a maximum fine of RM50,000, which is compoundable (i.e. a written offer not to prosecute on payment within a specified time of a sum of money, which shall not exceed 50% of the maximum fine).
